Dear Colleagues and Friends,

We are pleased to announce that 2nd International Cancer & Ion Channels Congress will be held in Izmir, Turkey on September 22-24, 2019. This will be under the auspices of Dokuz Eylul University. The main theme of this congress will be “Ion channels, cancer metabolism and translational oncology”. Izmir is situated on the beautiful and historic Aegean coast of Turkey.

This conference will bring together an interdisciplinary group of scientists from academia and medical industry who are actively engaged in research, teaching and application of physiology, biochemistry, biophysics, and pharmacology to oncology.

The main sub-topics of the meeting are (1) Current approaches in cancer, (2) Ion channel and cancer, (3) Cancer metabolism, and (4) Translational oncology. The science will be complemented by a strong social programme, including a visit to Ephesus.

Mustafa B.A. DJAMGOZ (Imperial College, UK) will deliver the Presidential Lecture and Omer YILMAZ (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA) will honor us with one of the Keynote Lectures. Plenary lecture will be delivered by distinguished scientist representing various fields of molecular life and cancer sciences. The following have also been invited: Anarossa Arcangeli (Italy), Natalia Prevarskaya (France), Metiner Tosun (Turkey), Ahmet Aydin (Turkey), Isik Tuglular (Turkey).

The abstracts presented at the Congress and the accepted full papers will be published in a Special Issue of the Turkish Journal of Biochemistry (SCI-Expanded).

On behalf of the 2nd International Cancer & Ion Channels Congress’ Organizing and Scientific Committees, we are honoured to invite you to our congress.
